MSI 400 series motherboards prepare for the new AMD Ryzen 5000 series
In a press release, MSI officially announced that the BIOS update for 400 series motherboards, which will introduce support for the new AMD Ryzen 5000 series processors announced on October 8, will be available from January 2021.

The update will cover all of its 400 series motherboards, including the X470 and B450 MAX and non-MAX series. Unfortunately, the 300 series motherboards, including the X370 and A320, will not bea> able to support the new processors, as confirmed by AMD itself. Should this change in the future, MSI has assured that it will return to develop new BIOS for those platforms as well.

The well-known Taiwanese company has already made official the recent AGESA COMBO PI V2 1.1.0.0, valid for all motherboards X570 and B550, to prepare the 500 series motherboards for the imminent launch of the AMD CPUs, scheduled for November 5th.

We remind you that the new AMD Ryzen 5000 series processors, based on the Zen 3 architecture, will be made again on the 7nm production process, the CPUs in question will offer a higher boost frequency, a significant increase in IPC level (+ 19%), a new core layout and a new cache structure. Now, groups of eight cores per chiplet can directly access 32MB of L3 cache, decreasing latency.
