As a result of the handover, EpocCam has been renamed Elgato EpocCam: Elgato is the German brand acquired in 2018 by Corsair and specialized in the creation of devices intended primarily for gaming sector.



The app will also be useful for those in possession of a webcam integrated into the laptop as by exploiting the power of the iPhone's photographic sector it is possible to obtain a higher quality video stream captured, also for recordings and live streaming broadcasts. The connection between the mobile device and the computer can be made via USB cable or wirelessly via WiFi.



These are the main features offered: support for resolutions up to Full HD, manual focus, possibility of using an external microphone, choice between wide-angle and zoom framing and compatibility with green screen for replacing the background. The Free version includes some limitations such as the 640 × 480 pixel format and the presence of a watermark, which can be eliminated by purchasing the Pro version at a price of $ 7.99.
