Technical specifications

The technical specifications of the RTX 3070 Gaming X Trio do not differ much from those of the Founders Edition by Nvidia. MSI's card still offers 5888 Cuda Core, 8GB of GDDR6 memory at 14Gbps, a boost clock of 1830MHz and the classic four video outputs, one HDMI 2.1 and three DisplayPort 1.4a.

The TDP is slightly higher than that of the RTX 3070 FE and reaches 240 watts, with the board being powered by two 8-pin connectors. MSI recommends, like Nvidia, a 650-watt power supply.

The backplate of the card is in graphene, but which gives strength to the board and at the same time ensures high passive heat dissipation. The RTX 3070 Gaming X Trio weighs 1.4kg and, although we are not talking about an excessive value, MSI also includes a support bracket in the package, so as to avoid any type of motherboard problem.

Design

The MSI RTX 3070 Gaming X Trio has a slightly different design from that seen on the RTX 2000 series models. The gray present in the cover of the previous models has given way to black and a darker shade of gray, colors which make the RGB LEDs present near the central fan and at the top, inside a transparent plastic strip stand out even more. The LEDs can obviously be managed and customized via MSI Mystic Light, the classic software of the Taiwanese company.
