Raya and the Last Dragon: the trailer for the next Disney Classic
The trailer for Raya and the Last Dragon, the 59th Disney animated classic, was unveiled on ABC's Good Morning America television program. The announcement of the release of the trailer was anticipated yesterday evening, Tuesday 20 October, with a post on the Disney social channels.

Raya and the Last Dragon will tell about Kumandra, a kingdom with the typical atmosphere of Southeast Asia, threatened by a malevolent force. The film will thus follow the adventure of Raya, a girl who will embark on a journey away from home to seek the help of Sisu, the last dragon, to face the evil Druun.

The release of the film was initially scheduled for November this year, however, this animated title has also suffered, like many other releases in 2020, the adverse consequences of the Coronavirus pandemic. The film was therefore postponed, in the United States, to March 12, 2021, however, as you can see from the official Italian poster, at the moment a generic "Coming soon to the cinema" is the only indication for what concerns the release in Italian cinemas. .

The atmospheres of this first trailer immediately catapult the viewer into a dimension made of adventure and action, in a formula that is quite new for a Disney female character. Raya is a guardian who has trained all her life for a very specific mission and who will find herself having to embark on her own journey of the hero (or heroine in this specific case) due to tensions between the different populations that inhabit the world of Kumandra.

The making of Raya and the Last Dragon took place remotely, making it the first Disney film entirely developed outside the animation studios, and will see Don Hall (Big Hero 6) and Carlos direct. López Estrada (Blindspotting), while the American voices of Raya and Sisu will be Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars) and Awkwafina (The Farewell - A good lie) respectively. at this link for this nice action figure produced by Bandai.
