Minecraft: Realms are on Azure servers, completed transfer from AWS
Mojang has announced two major milestones for its most popular game: Minecraft. The company, in fact, has finally completed the transfer of the Minecraft realms to the Azure servers, definitively abandoning the AWS services. He also confirmed that despite being 10 years old, the game is bursting with health, with over 132 million monthly active players.

Although the Mojang acquisition took place in 2014, it took a long time to move all realms of Minecraft from AWS (aka Amazon web services) to Microsoft Azure. Not only a political change, Microsoft and Amazon, in fact, with AWS and Azure are struggling to dominate a market worth tens of billions of dollars, but which should also bring benefits to players.

According to the team, in fact, this move will allow them to allocate fewer resources to server management and more to game development. In fact, the team will be able to work directly with Microsoft Azure engineers to have features and options suitable for their game. Without considering that the maintenance costs will be much lower, since everything is done at home.

In addition, the team has announced that almost 132 million players log in to Minecraft each month to play. An excellent result, especially considering that Mojang's world builder has more than ten springs on his shoulders.
