Cupra el-Born spotted on the track at the Nurburgring
The new Cupra el-Born has been spotted, albeit heavily disguised, on the Nürburgring circuit. It is a compact zero-emission sports car, and is the first car of the Spanish house to take advantage of the MEB platform and the powertrain of the Volkswagen ID.3 and ID.4 and Skoda Enyaq.

The car is expected on the market in 2021 under the Cupra brand, after the decision not to offer the car under the Seat brand was announced in the summer. This decision should ensure a distinctly sporty vein, so we are waiting for a car with decisive lines and a budget suited to this market segment.

The new Cupra el-Born should offer a 77 kWh battery capable of guarantee up to 500 km of autonomy; there will be two engines, positioned on their respective axes, capable of providing more than 300 hp of power. It also appears that the car will be able to go from 0 to 50 km / h in just 2.9 seconds, while the recharge times will be around 30 minutes for up to 260 km of autonomy.

Expected all-wheel drive therefore, with dynamic suspension control that allows you to adjust the settings specifically, so as to improve performance on the road.

The Cupra el-Born probably represents a first step towards the much talked about versions sports cars indicated with the wording 'GTX' of the Volkswagen ID.3 and ID.4 models, and opens the way in a market destined to see many new proposals in the coming years, that of sports hatchbacks with electric power.
