Audi Q8: the plug-in version arrives with 50 km of electric range
The Audi Q8 range is expanding. After the arrival of the high-performance S and RS versions, the top-of-the-range SUV from the Ingolstad manufacturer arrives in a plug-in hybrid version. The PHEV versions will use the same 340 Hp V6 3.0-liter petrol engine that will go and equip the 55 TFSI versions with 381 Hp and 600 Nm of torque and the 60 TFSI with 462 Hp. For both the traction is only integral combined with the 8-speed automatic transmission.

Good performance and up to 50 km in electric

The battery that powers the electric motor is 17.8 kWh of capacity. An accumulator that according to the homologation data should guarantee a zero emission range of about 50 km. A good mileage that allowed in the homologation phase to obtain consumption in the WLTP cycle between 2.8-3.1l / 100 km with a charged battery for both versions.

Values ​​that will certainly be recalculated in conditions of daily use. The addition of the electric motor has also allowed an improvement from the point of view of performance. The Audi Q8 55 TFSI accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 240 km / h. The 60 TFSI improves shooting from 0 to 100 which stops at 5.4 seconds; identical maximum speed, as well as the peak that can be reached with the electric push only: 135 km / h.

Specific driving modes

The motorist can choose between specific guide for the plug-in hybrid version, to optimize the consumption of electricity and fuel. Taking advantage of EV, you travel completely electrically up to the last kW present in the battery: with this mode, Q8 is similar to a total EV, traveling only on electricity. Convenient especially when you have to face a particularly busy urban route or when you have to access a restricted traffic area.

The Hybrid function is instead divided into Auto, Hold and Charge, which can be selected according to the needs and requirements of the driver. In the car, the Predictive Efficiency Assistant system is used, which combines data from navigation with those of driving style to respond by optimizing overall efficiency. Hold allows you to maintain the battery charge while facing a fast-moving stretch to then use it in the city; Charge uses the heat engine to recharge the battery while driving.

The Audi Drive Select maintains the Auto, Comfort, Dynamic, Efficiency, Individual, Allroad and Offroad settings. To ensure maximum versatility also for the plug-in hybrid version of the Q8. The sale price in Italy for the Audi Q8 PHEV has not yet been communicated.
