Borderlands 3 coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X / S
Borderlands 3 is an action RPG / First Person Shooter video game developed by Gearbox Software and produced by 2K Games and is the fourth installment in the series. After having enjoyed great success after the release, which took place in September 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC, in the last few hours Gearbox has made a series of new announcements for Borderlands 3, confirming that the game will arrive on the next gen for PS5 and Xbox Series X / S - like many other titles of the current-gen.

The exceptionality of this news, however, is that it will be possible to upgrade to the next generation versions for free, including some interesting updates at no additional cost, allowing you to transfer your game progress and any DLC you have purchased. In addition, PS5 and Xbox Series X will allow you to play Borderlands 3 in 4K resolution and 60 frames per second for singleplayer mode - but remember that on Xbox Series S it will be possible to play it at 1440p and 60 fps.

As for the new content introduced with Borderlands 3 in its next-gen version, there will be a cooperative multiplayer mode for up to four players with split-screen on the same console, a new game mode, a new skill tree for each Hunter of the Crypt and new action skills. However, these contents should also arrive for the current generation, precisely on PS4 and Xbox One.

The release date of Borderlands 3 on new generation consoles has yet to be confirmed, so we await updates on this. However, that of the free upgrade is certainly excellent news for fans of the series, who, without fearing the loss of their previous data due to the generational change, will be able to continue their adventure with the successful title of Gearbox Software, awarded as "Best Multiplayer Game" at Gamescom 2019.
