Google Pay checking account in 2021

Google Pay checking account in 2021
The link between bigG and the FinTech universe is getting deeper. The indiscretion that appeared last November regarding the possible debut of a current account linked to the Google Pay service is confirmed today. Not one, but eight institutions alongside the company for the initiative: BankMobile, BBVA USA, BMO Harris, Coastal Community Bank, First Independence Bank and SEFCU.

Eight banks for the checking account Google Pay

As you can guess from the names involved, the project will initially only affect the United States, starting from an unspecified moment of 2021, but there are few doubts that the company is already at the I work with the aim of extending its range of action to other territories, including those of the old continent, through the signing of agreements and partnerships with local realities. These are the words of Felix Lin, Vice Oresident of Payments Ecosystems for the Mountain View group, which refers specifically to BBVA.

Google is excited to partner with BBVA USA to enable a fair digital experience for everyone and that meets the needs of a new generation of customers. We believe that we can use our technological experience to offer benefits to people, banks and the entire financial ecosystem.

Finally, we remember that in April a corridor rumor broke about a card of debt always linked to Google Pay (a preview image above). The hypothesis that the two initiatives are somehow connected to each other cannot be excluded. We will certainly know more before the official debut.
