Star Wars: Squadrons, Gamescom 2020 preview

Star Wars: Squadrons, Gamescom 2020 preview
Beyond any other consideration, the last two years have been very positive at least for those who love Star Wars and video games. Battlefront II, Jedi Fallen Order, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker saga next year and now, very soon, also Star Wars: Squadrons, the shooter that Electronic Arts will launch on the market at a budget price, without resorting to major microtransactions. It seems a more unique than rare case: the game developed by EA Motive will focus above all on the online multiplayer experience, but will also count on a strongly narrative single player campaign that will immerse us in the historical conflict between the Rebels and the Empire at the time of the trilogy classical. We tried Star Wars: Squadrons a few weeks ago and in our previous preview you will find all the juiciest information on gameplay and game modes; now let's see what emerged from the new trailer released on the occasion of Gamescom 2020.

Rebels vs Imperials

The new trailer opens with a monologue by Leia Organa that we discover to be a kind of advertisement propaganda spread shortly after the destruction of the second Death Star in Return of the Jedi. The Rebel Alliance is transforming into the New Republic, but what little remains of the Empire intends to prevent it at all costs: Leia seeks new pilots who can fight against the followers of Emperor Palpatine and free the galaxy once and for all. The game, in fact, will play us at the same time in the shoes of a rebel pilot and an imperial pilot, dividing the campaign between the two factions. Between one mission and another we will have the opportunity to interact not only with our teammates, but also with some historical characters from the George Lucas saga, who will play roles of primary importance within the narrative.
