TikTok: ByteDance was looking for Microsoft, confirms CEO Satya Nadella
Recently Microsoft has been the protagonist of a simply incredible move on the market: the acquisition of Zenimax / Bethesda, with all the consequences that will ensue for the next gen. As you may recall, however, last month the company was also in talks with ByteDance, over the issue related to TikTok in the United States. And now we have more details.

CEO Satya Nadella confirmed that ByteDance was looking for Microsoft, and not vice versa as almost everyone had actually deduced. ByteDance would have proposed to Microsoft the creation of an American company completely managed by the second one, in order to avoid Trump's threatened ban.

The agreement was well advanced, so much so that it was very close to completion of a "public acquisition process". However, things then suddenly changed due to an apparent "rethinking" of President Trump, who would have decided to support Oracle (which arrived only at the last moment) and Walmart.

"The agreement has changed a lot since then "said Nadella, hinting that at that point Microsoft would have pulled back because Trump would have pointed to a whole other direction, in the management of TikTok on American soil. "If Microsoft had won the acquisition, TikTok would have been part of the company's efforts to expand its software."

Who knows, maybe Xbox Series X could have had a Dedicated TikTok, which at this point it will never receive. And for that one must thank (or blame, depending on the perspective) President Trump.
