Project Athia: Square Enix shows the Luminous Engine on video
Project Athia is not yet ready to be shown in more detail and so we are content to see something related to the Luminous Engine, or the graphics engine on which the game is developed, created by the internal team at Square Enix, Luminous Production, with a new video demonstrative.

The video shown above refers to the construction of game worlds, in particular through the procedural generation of an open world setting, in this case with natural and particularly realistic characterization.

The video is part of a demonstration of the Luminous Engine carried out at the Computer Entertainment Developers Conference 2020 (CEDEC 2020) in Japan, which is currently underway. This does not necessarily have to do with Project Athia but it can give an idea of the graphic quality of the game, considering that it should be based on the same technology.

In the video we see above all the remarkable simplicity of use of the tools, with a procedural construction of the setting that reproduces a very credible and realistic natural scenario in a few steps, at least starting from already established elements. We see a tool that semi-automatically arranges elements of scenery and objects on a terrain that can be modified simply in various ways, calculating even very large areas in real time.

We also learned that Project Athia, the new game Square Enix's PS5 will be open world with ray tracing and is also written by Gary Whitta, author of Rogue One. We remind you that Project Athia is in development for PS5 and PC, but as it is an exclusive time, it should arrive later also on Xbox Series X.
