In a surprise move, Nintendo has launched a Nintendo Direct dedicated to the initiatives for the 35th anniversary of Super Mario, its mascot. The video, which lasts about sixteen minutes, reports the announcement of the official Game & Watch of the character, of Mario Kart transported to the real world, of Super Mario 3D Worlds for Nintendo Switch, of Super Mario Bros. 35, of Super Mario 3D All Stars and much more, including the calendar of events related to the celebrations.

Mario has come a long way since his first jump on a Goomba in the 1-1 world of Super Mario Bros. Now, 35 years after the game's launch in Japan, our hero is the protagonist of new titles for Nintendo Switch and lends his features to brands such as LEGO, Kinder Joy and Monopoly. There is also a special themed festival in Splatoon 2.

With a new presentation airing today, Nintendo showcased a large number of titles, products and game events coming up for the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. Games for Nintendo Switch family consoles unveiled today include Super Mario 3D All-Stars, a collection of three modern-era Super Marys: Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy; Super Mario Bros. 35, an online title set in the world of the original Super Mario Bros.; and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, an enhanced version of Super Mario 3D World, originally released on Wii U.
