Among the news announced today by Microsoft for Teams, in addition to the curious Together Mode, also the first hardware devices dedicated to meetings and video calls on the platform: these are essentially displays equipped with software optimized for the service offered by the Redmond group and for the its features, from conferences to chats, up to calendar management.

The first to debut is Lenovo ThinkSmart View, followed by a product model by Yealink. Both offer support for the integration with the virtual assistant Cortana for the execution of voice commands useful for example to join a call or to add a participant.



interesting are those shown in the video below which allow these displays to communicate with the computer, making them a sort of extension of the main screen to better manage presentations and meetings remotely in perfect multitasking style.



These are the technical specifications of the Lenovo device dedicated to Teams: 8-inch touch screen with IPS panel and 1280 × 800 pixel resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 624 processor, 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAM, 8 GB of eMMC memory, camera 5 megapixel front, WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2.

The move to Microsoft was almost inevitable considering those announced recently by its most direct competitors in the sphere of solutions dedicated to smart working : at the end of June, Google introduced the compatibility of Meet with the smart display and in the past days Zoom has presented the program Hardware-as-a-Service offering with a subscription to a series of devices that are compatible with the platform.

In the post-presentation talks of a debut expected within the next few months. In reality, the model ThinkSmart View is already available for purchase in the United States at a price of 349,99 dollars on the official store of Lenovo and in Italy on Amazon to 410,08 euro .
