Nintendo will continue to offer game download codes in stores across Europe

Nintendo will continue to offer game download codes in stores across Europe
On Wednesday, we reported that Nintendo of Europe plans to stop selling download codes for Nintendo productions in stores. The information came from the response to a request from Nintendo Life. In a message that we received, Nintendo has now made it clear that it will continue to offer game download codes for in-house productions in stores across Europe. The information therefore relates to a change in the distribution system and an associated possibility that individual trading partners could no longer sell download codes for a certain time. Literally it says:

Customers across Europe can still purchase download codes for selected Nintendo-owned Nintendo Switch titles in stores. This also applies to Nintendo eShop Cards, Nintendo Switch online memberships and additional content such as the expansion pass for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield.

We are changing the way we dealers these digital products provide. As a result, some retailers may not sell download codes for Nintendo-owned Nintendo Switch titles in the coming months. Our new providers will work with our trading partners to switch to this new process as smoothly as possible. Basically, we're always checking out new ways we can make the content of Nintendo eShop accessible to as many game fans as possible.

Are you happy that game download codes from Nintendo productions continue? be offered in stores?
