Ace Attorney: writer and director Takeshi Yamazaki leaves Capcom
After fifteen years of loyal service, Takeshi Yamazaki has announced his departure from Capcom. He notably held the roles of director and screenwriter on the last two main opuses of the saga Ace Attorney (Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice) as well as on the two spin-offs Ace Attorney Investigations.

L ' Interested announced the news himself on Twitter, indicating that he will continue to work in the video game industry and meet "new challenges", without specifying his destination.

While the creator of the series, Shū Takumi, had left to take care of the special issues that are Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (2012), The Great Ace Attorney (2015) and its sequel (2017), it was Takeshi Yamazaki who signed the production and the intrigue of the main episodes Dual Destinies (2013) and Spirit of Justice (2016). The license, which totals nearly 7.5 million sales, will celebrate in October 2021 its 20th anniversary and for the time being, Capcom has not formalized the development of a seventh main album. Recall that the publisher launched last year the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy compilation on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
