The League of Legends World Championship Format!
The League of Legends World Championship (also known as Worlds) is an annual international tournament that brings together the best teams from each regional league in a battle to conquer the Summoner's Cup and earn the title of world champion. The event moves every year between the host regions and this year the teams will compete in the big city of Shanghai, China!



The World Championships are characterized by 3 phases:

1) Play-In (from 25 to 30 September)

2) Groups (from 3 to 11 October)



3) Direct Elimination:

- Quarter-final (from 15 to 18 October)

- Semi-final (from 24 to 25 October)

Final (31 October)





The teams that have earned the right to participate in the highest and most prestigious League of Legends export tournament are 22!

But only 12 of these have gained access direct, while the others must continue to fight!

In the first phase of the World Cup, the Play-In, the top finishers of the “minor” regions will be placed:

INTZ (Brazil - CBLOL) Unicorn of Love (Commonwealth Independent States - LCL) V3 Esports (Japan: LJL) Rainbow7 (Latin America: LLA) Legacy Esports (Oceania: OPL) Papara SuperMassive (Turkey: TCL) Together with the last, among the qualified, of the “major” regions:

PGS Talon Esports (South-East Asia: PCS) Team Liquid (North America : LCS) LGD Gaming (China: LPL) Mad Lions (Europe: LEC) Of these, only 4 teams will make it to the next stage!

The 12 teams already qualified will then join the 4 winners to compose a roster of 16 Elements which will be divided into 4 groups!
