Supernap achieves Tier 4 certification for its data center
Supernap Italia has obtained the ANSI / TIA-942 Rated 4 (formerly known as Tier 4) Design certification also for the second Data Hall of the first data center module, becoming the first operational data center in Italy to do so. It will soon also obtain that of Rated 4 Facility, confirming the high standards offered by the patented Switch technology used on Supernap Italia data centers.

The second Data Hall completes the first module of the data center, increasing the space dedicated to customers to host an additional 1,000 rack cabinets with power up to 40 kW each. Already sold for over 60%, the second Data Hall is now operational to host infrastructures for both new customers (cloud provider, system integrator or enterprise) and existing customers present in the first Data Hall who have decided to expand.

Rated 4 certification is provided by EPI. EPI is the first and currently the only Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) accredited by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), an organization accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) that develops industry standards for a wide range of technologies communication. Among these is ANSI / TIA-942, the most comprehensive and followed data center design standard in the world.

ANSI / TIA-942 sets standards not only for electrical and mechanical systems, but also includes those in the field of network architecture and telecommunications, electrical design, systems redundancy, risk management, environmental control, energy saving, site location, architecture, fire safety, physical safety and much more. The standard offers full transparency, allowing the public to access and review design requirements and audit criteria. It is also the only data center standard with an official accreditation scheme to ensure the quality of the audit and certificates.
