Differences from the original Bowser's Fury Certainties and doubts Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury was received with less warmth than it deserved. We will explore the reasons why during the preview, at the moment we limit ourselves to remembering the similarities with the presentation of the original title - for Wii U - at E3 2013: even in that case, in the trailer, Nintendo was not able to convey the ambition of the game. Some even mistaken it for a spin-off, a sort of more adventurous Mario Party.

Although not as appreciated as other three-dimensional Super Maris - a collection of which will soon arrive, Super Mario 3D All-Stars - the association between spin-off and Super Mario 3D World turned out to be totally wrong. On a conceptual level it was the goal of a journey that lasted years, in an attempt to superimpose, in all respects (including the commercial plan), the three-dimensional saga to the two-dimensional one. Super Mario 3D World is in fact the faithful 3D transposition of the Super Mario Bros. concept, with a linear path and the iconic flag at the end of the stage. Despite the excellent quality, we cannot say that it was a triumph: on a playful level it was less appreciated than other episodes (Super Mario 64, Galaxy), and on the commercial level it did not jump the series to the levels of the 2D one. Mission which, on the contrary, partially succeeded in Super Mario Odyssey.

Nintendo however wants to try again. Because, with Switch's installed base, Super Mario 3D World could really greatly increase its success. The most loyal audience to Nintendo has grown tired of these continuous conversions: for this reason, and because certain news were not effectively communicated, this announcement went a bit unnoticed. But sometimes appearances can be deceiving.
