Nvidia RTX 3080 demonstrates a big improvement over the RTX 2080 in Digital Foundry's comparison video
Nvidia RTX 3080 proves to be a great evolution on the RTX 2080 in the new technical analysis published by Digital Foundry, which immediately published an in-depth analysis on the new flagship just officially presented by Nvidia.

Actually the Digital Foundry's analysis is still quite partial and only shows the performance increase of the GeForce RTX 3080 compared to the RTX 2080 on different games taken as a reference, but it does not show precisely the same performances for each section of the game.

In any case, Richard Leadbetter reports how the results are very satisfactory, considering that at best he would have expected an average improvement of about 70% like that seen from GTX 980 to GTX 1080 (making an evolution parallel on the same "generation" in terms of architecture, in that case between GTX and in this case between RTX) and being instead faced with an increase of more than 80% in different cases.

Great increases in performance are also recorded with ray tracing activated, which further demonstrates how the transition to the new RTX 3070, 3080 and 3090 represents a significant step forward in terms of evolution on PC. These are therefore the games tested and the average performance increase detected, as you can also see in the video above: Borderlands 3 + 81.6% Doom Eternal + 84.2% Shadow of the Tomb Raider + 69.8% Control + 77.6% Quake 2 RTX (ray tracing) + 92.3% Control (ray tracing with High RT and DLSS) + 77.6%
