NVIDIA RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 Founders Edition, here is the EKWB waterblock
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 Founders Edition graphics cards are known for their generous size. However, we also know the space occupied is largely due to their huge and particular cooling system, as the PCB, on the other hand, is quite small. To make the GeForce RTX 3090 more compact, it will be necessary to replace the original heatsink with something smaller and EK Water Blocks seems to have the ideal solution.

In fact, EKWB has published the first photo of its next water block dedicated to GeForce RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 Founders Edition graphics cards from NVIDIA on his Twitter account. The image is mainly a teaser, but it allows us to get an idea of what we can expect from the product.

Since the PCB design used for the GeForce RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 Founders Edition is quite small ( i.e. it is shorter than previous generation models), using a custom liquid cooling solution can easily make the cards smaller. However, it is unclear from the photos whether EKWB's upcoming water block for Ampere Founders Edition cards still retains a single slot design or is a bit thicker.

Since both Founders Edition cards use the new 12 pin PCIe power connector in a rather unusual spot, EKWB had to move the nickel-plated fittings to the back of the water block.

Interestingly, EKWB's water block possesses a black cover that mimics the shape of the PCB above its transparent acrylic surface. We don't know if this cover has a certain functionality or is only for decorative purposes, but it certainly adds style to the device.
