2 Gbps for Google Fiber connections

2 Gbps for Google Fiber connections
Testing of the offer that will lead Google Fiber to offer its customers 2 Gbps connections (1 Gpbs in upload) is underway overseas. The price to pay for subscribers will be $ 100, $ 30 more than what is currently being asked for 1 Gbps lines, not so much when compared to the average cost of a service with far lower performance.

Google Fiber pushes towards 2 Gbps

Subscribers will be provided with a router with support for WiFi 6 and everything they need to create a Mesh network. The first US cities to benefit from it starting next month are Nashville (Tennessee) and Huntsville (Alabama). Initially the service will reach a limited number of users in order to bring out any critical issues on which to intervene, but by the end of the year all residents will be able to do the same.

Google Fiber networks are designed to offer enough range to allow customers with the right hardware in their homes to reach speeds of 2 Gbps and beyond. Our approach to network design allows us to keep customers connected with the best performance available.

The amount of bandwidth is sufficient to satisfy even the most demanding, those who activate simultaneously within their homes various devices for entertainment (streaming in high definition or cloud gaming), for smart working (communication and remote video calls), for navigation or for purposes related to smart homes, Internet of Things and so on.
