Watch Dogs: Legion, isn't an Nvidia RTX 2080Ti enough for 60fps ray tracing?
Watch Dogs: Legion will be one of the first Ubisoft games to officially support real-time ray tracing and the company showed graphics technology in action on the new game during its recent round of various demonstrations, however it also appears that even the powerful Nvidia RTX 2080Ti is unable to run the game at 60 fps with the graphics option active.

We know that ray tracing is a particularly expensive graphics technique in terms of computer and graphics card performance in general, but the RTX 2080Ti is currently the top of the options on the market in the standard consumer section (indeed, it is a high profile enthusiast), therefore it is surprising that it is not possible to go Watch Dogs: Legion at 60 frames per second with ray tracing even with this GPU.

To consider, moreover, that the resolution was set at 1080p, therefore also on this front the requests had been lowered somewhat. According to what was also analyzed by Digital Foundry, the shown build of Watch Dogs: Legion went at 1920x1080 with ray tracing and Ultra graphics options, but the whole was set at 30 frames per second.

It seems that Digital Foundry failed to get a smooth experience by setting 60 fps, despite the presence of the 2080Ti. On the other hand, this is not even completely unexpected, considering that even older games, such as Assassin's Creed Odyssey, can go to 60fps only by choosing the 1440p resolution on the RTX 2080Ti and without understanding ray tracing.
