Uncharted, the movie

Despite the numerous suspensions and postponements due to the global health emergency, the work on the Uncharted film came to an end a few months ago, so much so that now - after a first version leak that appeared online in the past few hours - here is that Sony Pictures has released the first Official trailer of the film inspired by the legendary PlayStation video game saga developed by Naughty Dog (and which you can find in a special offer at this address).

Tom Holland plays the role of Nathan Drake, although in the film the main character will be framed in a younger guise than seen in the four main chapters of the franchise. The archaeologist will be accompanied by his friend and mentor Victor "Sully" Sullivan (played by Mark Walhberg), while in the cast we will also find Antonio Banderas, Sophia Ali and Tati Gabrielle.

The promotional video shows various sequences from the films, including the one with the protagonist engaged in a daring rescue mission aboard a cargo plane. The sequence is very reminiscent of a scene seen in the PS3 video game Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, where Nathan was called to save his own skin at high altitude in a manner similar to what was seen in the first trailer of the film. br>
The release of Uncharted in theaters is currently set for February 18, 2022, although the film should have been released initially on March 5, 2021, and then be postponed to October 8 and then to July 16. In the control room we find Ruben Fleischer (Venom), who took over after the abandonment of other prominent filmmakers such as David O. Russell, Neil Burger, Seth Gordon, Shawn Levy, Dan Trachtenberg and Travis Knight.

The screenplay of the Uncharted film is in any case by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and Rafe Judkins, based on an original story by Mark D. Walker, Jon Hanley Rosenberg and Dan Trachtenberg. Charles Roven, Avi Arad, Alex Gartner and Ari Arad will produce the film, along with Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann.
