Crash Bandicoot, the new chapter is only late

Crash Bandicoot

In September Activision was in the process of launching a new Crash Badicoot. Obviously, we had also reported the news to you and the clues were all there. That launch, however, never occurred, despite some influencers and personalities from the world of video games came into possession of gadgets for the marketing campaign. This has led to a series of speculations on the matter and also the absence of the Activision brand, which has returned in great shape in recent years thanks to a remastered version and a new game has always seemed very strange to fans. But now we have the certainty: Wumpa League exists but is only late.

As reported on Twitter, in fact, the road map of the Crash Bandicoot franchise has been read. And as can be seen from the image, Wumpa League, the expected chapter for the autumn launch has only been postponed. As you can see, in fact, Activision's plans included the release of the game on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, but unfortunately the publisher has decided to take a step back. We do not know the reasons behind this choice, although probably everything could be traced back to the ongoing causes that are involving the Irvine publisher.

From the road map, however, the name of the game is not clear, even if obviously it is now in the public domain, but there are certain confirmations on nature. According to rumors, the new title of the series would be called Crash Bandicoot Wumpa League and would actually be a sort of Crash Bash but more suited to modern times: we are talking about post-launch support, an initial batch of heroes and maps and multiplayer modes. . Furthermore, during 2020 the game would have already been subjected to internal tests with closed alpha and regional tests.

So I can now FINALLY talk about this.

We don't know at this point when to Crash Bandicoot Wumpa League will be launched. Activision is unlikely to change plans on this, especially considering the exposure it has already had on the market. It is therefore easier that instead of a cancellation there is only the will to launch such a game when the waters around the Irvine publisher will be calmer.

New Crash Bandicoot Game Potentially Leaked

A new Crash Bandicoot game has potentially leaked, and it's a game we've been hearing through the rumor mill for a while. According to the leak, a new Crash Bandicoot game was supposed to release this October, however, for an undisclosed reason, Activision changed the plans of the game's release date. Unfortunately, the leak doesn't spill anything beyond this, but it's accompanied by media that bolsters the claim.

'So I can now finally talk about this,' writes Matt Romano, the leaker, over on Twitter. 'The original Wumpa League release date plans (also original Crash 4 release plans). It was going to launch this fall before Activision changed those plans. Take this info as you will everyone.'

'So key information then,' adds Crash Bandicoot Clubhouse, a news and community page dedicated to the series. 'Wumpa League is planned for Playstation, Xbox, and Switch and there was going to be beta testing done in the Summer with the game launching in October 2021. 'Content-wise 16 heroes and 13 maps at launch. I'm intrigued by this but it sounds very plausible.'

As alluded to, we've been hearing about 'Wumpa League' for a while, but recently the rumors and speculation had dried up. In other words, this is our first update, at least of the substantial variety, in months. That said, everything here needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Everything here is not only unofficial, but even if it's all completely accurate, it's also subject to change.

At the moment of publishing, Activision hasn't commented on any of this in any capacity. We don't expect this to change for a variety of reasons, but if it does, we will be sure to update the story accordingly.
