Xbox: Microsoft does not want to force the purchase of new consoles
Moving to a new generation is always a complex time, both for gamers and for console manufacturers. It's not just about putting a good product on the market, but approaching the public with a strategy and a philosophy that can convince players. Microsoft recently talked about this, repeating that its Xbox strategy is not tied to a single console, or even to consoles in an absolute sense.

Phil Spencer said that Microsoft does not want to “build walls around Xbox ”. These words are part of a statement made to Fast Company microphones. Let's see what he said, in translation: "Microsoft has been part of the gaming market for quite some time, we want to be a platform where hundreds of millions or billions of players can gather to play."

Spencer claims that the company does not want users to be forced to buy a new console in order to continue playing. This is a long-established strategy. The first-party games from Microsoft, in fact, to be released in the next 12-24 months will all be cross-gen, so as to allow even those who “only” have Xbox One to continue playing the news.

Il Microsoft's economic model, however, doesn't stop at the Xbox alone. The games will all also be published on P C, as has been the case for some time. Even gamers who prefer to spend their time on mobile will be able to enjoy a selection of console and PC games even on smartphones and tablets thanks to xCloud, which is part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

The latter is also a clear sign of Microsoft's strategy: giving maximum value to gamers at an advantageous price to say the least (which Sony has already declared it does not want to offer because it does not consider it sustainable).

Tell us, what do you think of the strategy from Microsoft? Do you share it?
