The news of the Huawei Developer Conference 2020
During the opening of the Huawei Developer Conference, the Chinese giant announced a lot of news, including HarmonyOS 2.0. The company said it spent a year exploring system optimization possibilities, focusing primarily on data privacy and security. Compared to HarmonyOS 1.0, the next-gen enjoys distributed functionality, such as to make a similar interaction on all of the group's mobile devices, including smartphones, tablets and wearables.

This through a simple concept, which is that to develop apps for one platform and then distribute them on all supported ones regardless of form factor. In terms of speed, HarmonyOS 2.0 is always very responsive, while part of the work focused on system stability and how it is managed: according to initial analyzes, it consumes only 10% of the battery in 16 hours.

Multiple authentication

As mentioned, however, Huawei has invested heavily in security and privacy, key objectives of HarmonyOS. The company says it has made significant progress in this area so much so that the device the OS will run on "will show the right data on the right device to the right user." And this is where the concept of “versatile authentication” comes into play. From face data to fingerprints, voice correspondence and even heart rate, this information will be used as an example for HarmonyOS so that an individual can access the device he is holding. It is unclear whether these parameters will work together or not but it is something the company will show later.
