Nvidia wants ARM: the agreement is close
The deal is almost done: Nvidia is about to acquire ARM from SoftBank with an operation that can be quantified in 40 billion dollars in cash and equity stocks.

According to sources close to the negotiations, the announcement will arrive within the next week that will close the matter: the handshake would be close, as is the beginning of Nvidia's adventure in the mobile world. At the time, SoftBank had acquired ARM for about 32 billion, which therefore guarantees an excellent margin despite the complex year and despite only 4 years from the previous handover.

Nvidia-ARM? A bargain for everyone (or almost)

Rumors about the possible acquisition have been chasing each other for months now. Should the announcement take place shortly, however, a difficult examination by the antitrust authorities is expected, appointed to assess the possible market repercussions of an operation of this magnitude (probably the largest ever for the semiconductor world) .

For SoftBank this is a good business especially in light of the difficulties the company is experiencing after a year of pandemic - which already weighed down some serious problems such as the downward path of the Uber meteor. The sale of ARM would represent a breath of fresh air that comes at the most opportune moment, which has probably created the right window of opportunity for Nvidia.
