Epic Games: Apple lied, Fortnite on iOS wasn't dying already
According to very recent statements by Epic Games, in the wake of the legal case of the last few weeks, following the ban of its Battle Royale, Apple lied. Contrary to what was stated in a recent deposition for a preliminary injunction, Fortnite on iOS was not already dying.

Still in the context of the delicate affair currently underway, Apple has declared that the legal action by Epic Games would be nothing more than an attempt to revive interest in Fortnite on iOS, which fell in the months prior to the ban. Numbers in hand, Fortnite would have gone against between October 2019 and July 2020 to a decrease of 70% in interest from users. Epic Games is not convinced, in fact Apple would have lied openly, simply making use of Google search data: indeed the active user base on iPhone and iPad would have grown by 39% in the same period.

But it is not all, because with the occasion Epic Games has decided to deny other (alleged) lies of Apple. For example: it would not be true that the removal of Fortnite would help security and privacy, as Apple would not have indicated "a single security issue" in Fortnite's new payment method within the app (the main reason behind of the ban). Furthermore, it is not even true (and this is evident, therefore the conditional is not needed) that Fortnite has not proposed updates on iOS in recent years: one is published on average every two weeks, sometimes even at a shorter distance.

It all ended with the usual observations of Epic Games, in the wake of the beliefs of the same CEO Tim Sweeney: Apple would simply be willing to maintain its condition of absolute dominance, of monopoly on the App Store.
