7.2% immune and other contact tracing apps?

7.2% immune and other contact tracing apps?
It may be because of a perception of risk that has been decreasing in parallel with the number of infections in the first countries affected by the coronavirus, but the applications for contact tracing have so far not been able to reach a sufficient share of the population to be effective. A speech that also applies to our Immuni, stuck at 7.2% of Italians despite the recommendations received from the big names in the online world as well as from family doctors (and common sense).

Contact tracing, how are the apps going? (spoiler: bad)

This is confirmed by the research conducted by Sensor Tower on the basis of the downloads registered globally. In Australia, distribution reached 21.6% of the population, in Turkey 17.3%, in Germany 14.4% (despite a launch launched), in India 12.5%, in Italy as already mentioned on 7.2%, Peru 6.8%, Japan 5%, Saudi Arabia 4.9% and France 3.1%. Indonesia closes the list with 2.3%, Thailand with 0.7%, Vietnam with 0.4% and the Philippines with 0.2%.

It's good to underline how the percentages refer only to the total volume of installations without taking into account those who, for various reasons, may have eliminated the application or keep it deactivated.

The situation could change within the next few months if all the horizon the feared second wave of contagions should emerge, a hypothesis that divides the scientific community itself between those who are optimistic (hopefully not excessively) and COVID-19 label as a threat now left behind and those who instead invites caution by continuing to ask for the respect of precautions such as social distancing or the use of the mask.

Also Immune could come in useful in the autumn season , as highlighted recently by, among others, by the minister Hope to ward off the specter of a second lockdown, which could be disastrous both in terms of their impact on public health and for the economy as our country already been severely hit by the health crisis of the beginning of the year.
