5G: the UK knocks on Japan's door
After hitting Huawei, the UK asked Japan for help setting up 5G networks. This is what was announced over the weekend by the editorial staff of the Nikkei Asian Review, citing two companies that could take care of supplying the necessary components for the creation of the networks: NEC and Fujitsu.

Japan with the United Kingdom for 5G networks?

The meeting between some representatives of the British authorities and the companies of the Rising Sun would take place on Thursday in Tokyo, two days after the ban was formalized against the Chinese reality. In any case, it is not possible to exclude the possibility that other companies, including European ones, may participate in the operation: last week Oliver Dowden, secretary of state for digital, culture, media and sport of the Johnson administration, has in fact confirmed that negotiations have been entered into with suppliers from Finland (Nokia), Sweden (Ericsson) and South Korea.

An issue that will inevitably have to be addressed in the countries of the old continent in the near future. In France it has been decided for now not to ban any supplier, however asking the telcos to choose if possible an alternative to that of Shenzhen, while in Italy the most important operator has excluded Huawei from the race for 5G, officially for reasons industrial and non-political in nature.

At stake are not only billionaire contracts and the operation of the networks to which we will allocate our communications and services in the coming years, but also the delicate political and diplomatic balances between superpowers world, especially the United States and China, several times in the last period protagonists of discussions with bright tones on the subject.
