PS5: the chassis will be much more customizable than that of the PS4

The PS5 chassis will be much more customizable than the PS4 chassis and apparently there will be several ways to do this. Matt MacLaurin, the console's UX Design VP, said it in response to a follower on LinkedIn who asked him about the possibility of having a PS5 with a black chassis.

MacLaurin did not elaborate further his comment, but many have deduced that not only will there be the classic special editions of PS5, now essential for any gaming hardware, but also that it will be possible to remove the wavy parts to replace them with others, so as to have more decorations applicable to the console, without having to buy it again, as in fact happens with PS4.

We explain the hypothesis with an example. Let's say for example that a Horizon Forbidden West themed PS5 comes out, those who want to can buy the already customized console, while those who already have it can simply buy the themed chassis (perhaps bundled with the game, to make another hypothesis).

However at this stage it is difficult to say what MacLaurin really means, so take our mere hypotheses. We just have to wait for Sony to better explain this aspect of PS5 before drawing the necessary conclusions.
