AMD, new interesting information on the Cezanne and Van Gogh APUs
Igor’s Lab colleagues have published several interesting pieces of information about AMD's new Ryzen 5000 APUs. In particular, the leaks concern "Cezanne", addressed to the desktop and notebook, and "Van Gogh", designed for use in low energy consumption devices. We recall, in fact, that the Sunnyvale company has long used the surname of great painters as a code name for its future products.

Going into more detail, "Cezanne" will combine a CPU based on the Zen 3 architecture with a Vega GPU, replacing the Ryzen 4000 Renoir family of APUs available on notebooks since last April and which will make its debut on the AM4 platform over the next few months. Cezanne will use new and improved core technologies on FP6 and AM4 packages, in particular the new Vega GPU should be an improved version of the iGPU present in the Ryzen 4000 APUs, even if at the moment no further details have been released about it.

"Van Gogh", on the other hand, should combine a Zen 2 CPU with an RDNA2 GPU, therefore based on the new graphics card architecture which should be released in the second half of this year. Specifically, it seems that it will be a Navi 21 GPU, a name that appeared recently in the driver files present in the Beta version of macOS "Big Sur". The code name "Navi 21" could mislead several people as it was previously connected to the expected Big Navi GPU, even if at the moment it is only speculation. "Van Gogh" will be the successor of "Dalì" (Athlon 3000G), defining itself as an entry-level proposal in the field of APU and it is said that it will come out after "Cezanne". Ryzen 5000 "Cezanne" APUs should compete with Intel's Tiger Lake CPUs at launch, while "Van Gogh" APUs will have to contend with Tiger Lake-Y.

AMD, then, and prepares to jump directly from Vega at RDNA 2 in the field of the APU, avoiding the RDNA. The real turning point, however, should come in later with the solutions Ryzen 6000 Rembrandt ”, expected in 2022 , which provide the integration between the architecture of the CPU Zen3+ (optimization of the previous one produced on the node to 6nm of TSMC) and GPU RDNA 2. Rembrandt should also require a new platform and to offer support to the new memories DDR5.

are you looking for a AMD processor with a good integrated GPU? We recommend the AMD Ryzen 5 3400G, that you can buy on Amazon for a special price!
