PlayStation Store: Back 4 Blood and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba

PlayStation Store

PlayStation Store sees this week the debut of Back 4 Blood, the zombie-based cooperative shooter developed by Turtle Rock Studios, the authors of the original Left 4 Dead, but also other releases of great interest starting with the tie-in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles.

That's not all: Crysis Remastered Trilogy will allow FPS fans to recover the famous Crytek trilogy, while The Good Life will finally show us the new project directed by Hidetaka "SWERY" Suehiro, the creator of the iconic horror adventure Deadly Premonition.

Back 4 Blood

Back 4 Blood, the Exterminators grappling with a special enemy Against the backdrop of a post-apocalyptic scenario in which the whole world has been devastated by the sudden invasion of hordes of Haunted, born from a dangerous parasite, Back 4 Blood (PS5 and PS4, € 69.99) stands as the spiritual sequel to Left 4 Dead, the iconic ba shooter se of zombies developed by Turtle Rock Studios and released on Steam in 2008.

Among the survivors are people immune to the infection who decide to fight in the desperate search for a cure or a weapon that can change the destiny of humanity: the Exterminators. We will be able to choose our character from a shortlist of eight fighters, each with their own unique abilities, and embark on a campaign divided into four acts with an increasingly higher degree of challenge.

Strictly in the company of three human players in cross-play (a single player mode with bots is present but appears very distant from the spirit of the game and does not allow you to unlock the rewards), our task will be to explore scenarios full of zombies and special enemies, as well as huge mutants that sprout from the ground, eliminating as much as possible and reaching the first available refuge from time to time.

To defend ourselves from the dangers we will be able to count on an unprecedented system of cards that act as perk and on a truly vast arsenal, consisting of pistols, machine guns, rifles, slashing and cutting weapons as well as various types of explosives with which to tear apart the undead and pave the way for us to hope for a better future. All the details in the Back 4 Blood review.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles, Tanjiro prepares to strike Based based on the famous work of Koyoharu Gotouge, capable of selling over 150 million copies, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles (PS5 and PS4, € 59.99) is the new tie-in developed by CyberConnect2, the Japanese team responsible from the Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm series. The game follows the events of the first season of the anime and the feature film Mugen Train, telling the adventures of Tanjiro Kamado.

Tanjiro's family has been massacred and his sister Nezuko turned into a demon, and that's why that the boy has decided to become part of the demonslayer team, undergoing severe tests to be able to wield a sword of the sun, the only weapon capable of cutting off the heads of these infernal creatures, and learn the breathing techniques that allow the men to amplify their abilities.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles, Nezuko in action The approach is that of an arena fighter, with three-dimensional fights against stronger and more dangerous opponents, the title of CyberConnect2 is immediately revealed rather faithful to the animated series thanks to the excellent graphics in cel shading and very well done intermission sequences, which then result in spectacular duels in cu We will be able to build on a fairly rich repertoire of moves.

The problem is that the story mode includes really trivial exploratory sequences and is completed too quickly, leaving only mode versus the task of entertaining us in the long run: too little for a game that is practically sold at full price. We talked about it in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles review.

Crysis Remastered Trilogy

Crysis Remastered Trilogy, a look at the scenario of the first episode After the release of Crysis Remastered (here the review) in September, the complete and remastered collection of the shooter series signed by Crytek with the Crysis Remastered Trilogy (PS4, € 49.99) arrives on the PlayStation Store. A very full-bodied package, which includes all three chapters of the iconic franchise, technically improved for an even more spectacular and engaging experience.

We will therefore find ourselves exploring the Lingshan Islands again, which they do. background to the debut episode, wearing the powerful nanosuit of the elite soldier Jake "Nomad" Dunn and facing an entire army in order to find out what really happened in the area. To complete the mission we will be able to count on the extraordinary powers guaranteed by the nanosuit, capable of transforming us into a superman.

Crysis Remastered Trilogy, a Crysis 2 combat sequence instead leads us on an adventure with more linear, with a different protagonist, codenamed Alcatraz, who in the early stages of the campaign suffers mortal wounds but is saved by Prophet, one of the super-soldiers of the first chapter, who gives him his nanosuit before taking his own life to prevent a alien virus has the upper hand. It is precisely in a war between humans and aliens that we will have to move, against the backdrop of a New York devastated by conflict.

Crysis 3, finally, tries to resume in many ways the open world structure of the beginnings and stands without 'other as the most valuable piece of the trilogy from a technical point of view. Even in terms of gameplay, however, the game manages to field an effective synthesis and to involve us again in a shooter experience of great depth, as we wrote in the Crysis Remastered Trilogy review.

The Good Life

The Good Life, Naomi strolls through the city of Rainy Woods The Good Life (PS4, € 32.99) marks the return of Hidetaka "SWERY" Suehiro with an adventure with peculiar prerequisites . Nottetempo le people turn into cats and dogs, and the same happens to Naomi! However, the woman does not give up and she tries to exploit these new skills to solve a murder case that occurred during her stay in the city. A mission that we will have to complete by collecting one clue at a time and experimenting with the many activities available in Rainy Woods.

The other games

Doctor Who: The Edge of Reality, one of the scenarios of the game Doctor Who: The Edge of Reality (PS4, € 24.99) puts us in the shoes of the thirteenth Doctor, played by Jodie Whittaker, once again engaged in a mission on which the fate of the universe depends. However, surprises will not be lacking in this original adventure, in which we will also find the iconic tenth Doctor, that of David Tennant, crossing space and time to overcome increasingly difficult challenges.
