NetherRealm at work on a fighting game with crazy characters

That NetherRealm Studios is currently working on a new game after Mortal Kombat 11 is certainly no surprise. However, to be able to leave you speechless is a recent rumor concerning the next work of the software house. On the ResetEra forum, a user, who wanted to remain anonymous to avoid risks of any kind, makes it known that NetherRealm Studios is currently working on a crossover fighting game of the main Warner Bros. franchises that will resume the gameplay in Super Smash Bros. style.

If the idea itself is very particular, the roster of characters is even more so: there will be Shaggy from Scooby Doo, Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings, Tom & Jerry, Batman, Fred Flinstone, Mad Max , Johnny Bravo and even Harry Potter and Ron, although the latter two may no longer be in development due to a conflict of rights. The author of the post also explains that there are other characters in the cast as well, but that he wants to wait even longer before revealing them.

The origins of the curious NetherRealm game are probably the craziest part of the story, so much so that at this point that the possibility that this whole story is false becomes even more concrete. According to the author of the post, the idea came when NetherRealm noticed the disproportionate amount of memes about Shaggy in his "Ultra Instinct" form, and for obvious reasons could not have included it on the Mortal Kombat 11 roster.
In addition, Warner Bros. would be looking to unite its most successful franchises even more, as it did with Space Jam 2. The author of the post acknowledges that the whole affair sounds ridiculous, but advises to go back to read his words when the title is announced in the coming months, possibly during The Game Awards 2021. However, he reveals that the game has been in development in the NetherRealm studios for a long time now, which could mean that it is in its final stages.

Although the whole news must be taken with a grain of salt, a detail that came after the publication of the rumor may have also revealed the name of the game, as well as giving more truth to the whole story: the author of the post then shared a recent trademark of Warner Bros. that mentions a mysterious game called "Multiversus". In short, it is difficult to understand how much truth there is in this whole story, which is why we advise you to stay tuned to our pages so as not to miss any updates.
