Xbox Series S doesn't solve Microsoft's biggest problem according to Bloomberg
It is the topic of the week and will probably be at the center of the thoughts of all players until its release: we are obviously talking about the Xbox Series S, Microsoft's budget console that has so amazed gamers around the world. The value for money seems to be incredible, but will it be enough to overturn the balance of power after a generation dominated by PS4? According to Bloomberg's Tae Kim no, because Xbox Series S doesn't solve Microsoft's biggest problem.

Let's go in order though. In an opinion piece, Kim explains that, on paper, Microsoft's strategy is sound. Xbox Series X satisfies the most demanding gamers, those "hardcore" who want the top of the range, while Xbox Series S aims at gamers who prefer to save and enjoy digital games with Game Pass.

In practice, However, this strategy has many problems according to Kim. First of all, as we have already pointed out, the name of the consoles will create great confusion. Xbox One X, Xbox Series X, Xbox One S, Xbox Series S are all very similar and don't help the more casual and uninformed customers. PlayStation 5, on the contrary, has the great advantage of being able to count on numerical succession. PS5 is superior to PS4, it's obvious to everyone, but understanding that Xbox Series S is better than Xbox One X but inferior to Xbox Series X is not that instantaneous.
