Technical analysis for God of War III

Technical analysis for God of War III
We take note, with a mixture of bewilderment and fun, that more and more developers have now acquired the insane habit of proclaiming the technical goals achieved with the new hardware to the world. People of undoubted talent like the guys at Infinity Ward do not hesitate to declare that they have now squeezed the Xbox 360 circuits to the limit (especially with the last, wonderful chapter of Modern Warfare). In reality, very few development teams capable of extracting every single drop of potential from a given hardware. Among these, we can only highlight the work done by the SCEA Santa Monica team with the two God of War on PS2.

The series that starred the god of War has in fact exalted like few other titles the Sony hardware, and the team now sets out to match similar peaks with the move to PlayStation 3. An endless mass of polygons moving on the screen, advanced HDR pertaining to even the most remote corners of locations, simply stunning light refraction effects and a level of texture detail capable of doing justice to your HD TVs. The fury of Kratos, the blood of the enemies and the explosions surround a very thick technical sector.

The video, taken from a session in-game of last E3, is undoubtedly highly spectacular, but we have to highlight the data resulting from the technical analysis. We can first put aside the allegations about the alleged resolution of 1080p. The analysis of the material showed up today, including the following video reveals a specific resolution at 720p with anti-aliasing to 2x. The framerate is around at 30 fps, but there are some sections where the number comes up to decrease. Each flame arrow cast by Kratos with his bow, and each explosion is not just a mere tinsel aesthetic, but they go to influence all the surrounding light like a real light source. To this we add the great effect of blur on the environmental elements, which allows us to better focusing the attention on the partition operated by our alter ego. All this and much another you will find it explained and commented (at the moment only in English) in the movie that we propose below. Good vision!
