MacBook Pro 16, now you can choose a Radeon Pro 5600M

Day of great announcements for AMD, which in addition to having made official the Ryzen 3000XT processors and the A520 chipset has made available the Radeon Pro 5600M for Apple's MacBook Pro. It is a graphic solution based on first generation RDNA architecture and it is the first Navi video card with HBM2 type memories, which are able to offer superior performance to the classic GDDR6 in the professional field.

The Radeon Pro 5600M is based on Navi 12 and can count on 40 Compute Units, for a total of 2560 stream processors. The chip is produced at 7nm and can reach a boost frequency of 1035MHz, which allows to reach a maximum computational power of 5.3 TFLOPs in FP32 operations, all with a 50 watt TGP. As anticipated, the Radeon Pro 5600M provides the user with 8GB of HBM2 memory, positioned on two stacks alongside the GPU die and on the same interposer. The memory offers a bandwidth of 394GB / s and a 2048-bit bus.

Those who buy a MacBook Pro 16 now have one more video card to choose from, for a total of three models: Radeon Pro 5300M , Radeon Pro 5500M and this Radeon Pro 5600M. To be precise, the Radeon Pro 5300M is only available in the version with the Intel Core i7 9th generation processor; if you opt for the model with Intel Core i9 you can only choose between Radeon Pro 5500M with 4GB of memory, Radeon Pro 5500M with 8GB of memory and Radeon Pro 5600M.

But how much does it cost to insert the new Radeon Pro 5600M within your configuration? Not a little. For the MacBook Pro 16 with Intel Core i9 you will have to add 875 euros to the total, which becomes 1000 if you were considering buying the variant equipped with Intel Core i7 processor.

the Less fortunate instead of those interested in the 13 inch, that will have to continue to rely solely on Intel's Iris Plus built-in the CPU of the eighth and tenth generation. In case you are interested in the purchase of the MacBook Pro's 16 and you're undecided on the graphics solution to be adopted, here you find a handy table that summarizes the different characteristics of the available tabs.
