Rainbow Six Extraction: release date accidentally revealed by Ubisoft?

Rainbow Six Extraction

Ubisoft may have unveiled the release date of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction. The game, previously expected for the month of September, had been postponed to 2022. Now a post on the company's official website, probably published by mistake and ahead of its time, indicates January 20, 2022 as the new launch date of the cooperative shooter .

The post appeared on the official Ubisoft website was published on June 12 this year, but as reported by VGC it has recently been updated, presenting the new alleged release date of Rainbow Six Extraction, which between the other coincides perfectly with the launch window of January 2022 previously announced by the company. In short, at this point we are only waiting for an official reveal, with great fanfare, from Ubisoft.

Rainbow Six Extraction, the new release date appeared on the official Ubisoft website In Rainbow Six Extraction the players will play the role of elite operators belonging to the Rainbow Six universe, but with a totally different formula from that of Siege. Extraction is in fact voted for co-op and PvE. Inspired by Siege's Outbreak mode, operators will have to face a new species of mutated alien parasite and foil a mysterious extraterrestrial threat.

Ubisoft recently released a trailer dedicated to Pulse, one of the 18 operators that will be available in Rainbow Six Extraction at launch.

Rainbow Six Extraction new release date could be January 20th

Raibow Six Extraction may have a brand new release date, and that date could be January 20th, 2022. This “leak” comes from Ubisoft itself where the original announcement post from July this year was updated, with a date of January 20th. However, the page has now been removed with it redirecting to a 404 error page instead. Rainbow Six Extraction was set to be released in September, but Ubisoft did delay it and state the game would be out in January 2022. However, the exact date was never given. Just seems like some hit the post button a bit earlier than planned.

Rainbow Six Extraction was originally known as Rainbow Six Quarantine, and that was revealed back in 2019 with a view for it to be released in 2020. Unsurprisingly, the game was delayed then too. When the game was delayed earlier this year, Ubisoft released a statement that said:

Our ambition with Rainbow Six Extraction is to deliver a full-fledged AAA experience that changes the way you play and think about cooperative games. With unique features like Missing In Action or The Sprawl, every mission is set to be a tense and challenging experience in which you’ll lead the elite operators of Rainbow Six in a fight against a lethal and evolving alien threat. We are embracing the opportunity to take additional time to bring this vision to life in the way it deserves in January 2022. We are confident this will ensure Rainbow Six Extraction is the immersive, cooperative, and thrilling experience we set out to create, and the one you aspire to play.

Rainbow Six Extraction is a PvE experience where teams of three face off against an alien threat known as the Sprawl, in an effort to contain and eradicate it as well as rescue Operators that can then be added to the roster. Rainbow Six Extraction will be available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Luna, and Stadia.
