Metroid Dread harshly criticized by David Jaffe

Metroid Dread is certainly one of the most streaming games these days, and it was not missing even during the broadcasts of David Jaffe, well-known creator of God of War and Twisted Metal who has been indie developers for years and, for some time to this part, also columnist and youtuber, in which he harshly criticized the Nintendo Switch game.

Jaffe found Metroid Dread somewhat frustrating but not so much for the difficulty in itself of the game, but rather for its design, which according to the former Sony developer would make little sense.

In particular, the author of God of War was practically shocked to discover that he had to hit certain parts of the scenario to reveal new passages. In particular, the fact that there are no clear indications on where to aim to discover these openings would be an example of bad game design.

All this suggests that Jaffe does not really have a great experience with the Metroid series, given that the fact of having to open new roads even without particular indications from the point of view of scenery and map is one of the historical characteristics of the Nintendo series (without considering that Metroid Dread also shows some clues on where to turn your attention, to tell the truth).

From his side, it must be said that Jaffe certainly has great experience in game design, having in fact created one of the most successful series for PlayStation, but evidently the particular structure of Metroid Dread just doesn't suit his way of conceiving game design. Obviously, all this has sparked considerable controversy between Twitter and various social networks, with the majority of users criticizing Jaffe's evaluation, also because the latter recently reported that some modern games would be too difficult.

On the other hand, lately the developer has perhaps dropped too much into the character of the controversial youtuber, considering several of his latest releases on social media. Recently, it has emerged among other things that Metroid Dread has a bug that stops players towards the end and that Nintendo is working on it, after the best debut for the series in Japan.
