Freeza First Form & Freeza Pod by Tamashii Nations

The list of S.H.Figuarts dedicated to Dragon Ball Z continues to grow with the addition of a new and highly sought-after protagonist. We have in fact reviewed the new Freeza First Form & Freeza Pod action figure. This is the first form with which we become familiar with the evil tyrant who has managed to bend even the powerful Saiyan Warriors to his will. The exit in question becomes even more interesting since it also includes the presence of the floating throne of Freeza, putting us in the situation of being able to choose whether to display it simply standing or sitting inside the mobile throne.

The Character

Freeza is a fictional character from the vast narrative universe of Dragon Ball Z. We meet him for the first time during the narrative arc set on the planet Namek. He is the tyrant and ruler of a series of worlds bent to his dominion by him and when he learns of the dragon spheres of planet Namek he decides to go with a large part of his army. Another story is also hidden in Freeza's past. In fact, he is also the real responsible for the destruction of the home planet of the Saiyans of which he feared the power and the possibility that one of them could one day become the legendary Super Saiyan. It was Bardak, the father of Kakarotto, after having understood the real plans of Freeza, to launch a last desperate (but useless) attack against him, inexorably disappearing under the deadly blow of the despot who together with him destroyed the whole planet.

Packaging and Blister

The action figure is enclosed in a transparent blister which in turn is located inside a cardboard and plastic box. Thanks to the transparent part we can see most of the figures and accessories. In the box we find references of the manufacturers, Bandai and Tamashii Nations, the holographic logo that certifies the original product and the inevitable Dragon Ball Z series logo, from which the figure is taken. The blister, which contains figures and accessories (so many as you can see from the photos), is well ordered and allows us to distinguish each object from a first fleeting glance. In addition to Freeza's figures, we also find her throne, almost as high as the figure itself, a transparent support to simulate flight, a second head, the scouter, two pairs of alternative hands and 4 interchangeable faces with different expressions. Also among the accessories we also find a Dragon Ball of Namek and the small effect that simulates the final blow of Freeza.

Freeza First Form

The SHFiguarts of Freeza First Form has been created under the direct supervision of Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball's dad). It is possible to exhibit both the standing figure alone, with all the possibilities of the case, and inside his flying throne. The throne contains the lower part of the body already seated on which we will have to fix the upper part of the figure and the tail and can be comfortably placed on the transparent support provided by the company. The details of the product are very good, in particular the expressions of the optional faces that thanks to the hands and other accessories allow us to recreate every curtain of this terrifying despot of the galaxy. As with other releases, Tamashii Nations has well thought of using different types of finishes for both the Freeza armor where we notice a glossy purple alternating with parts of opaque color. The same stylistic choice was adopted for the pod which features contrasting gold colors with opaque black portions.

Conclusions

Freeza First Form & Freeza Pod is a figure that we really liked and wanted for some time and we can say that we have exceeded our most inflexible expectations. Don't worry, this time it is not a Tamashii We Exclusive so it will be possible to recover it with more tranquility than other limited releases but do not wait too many months or you still risk it going Sold-Out. Pending the conclusion of the Ginyu team group, of which we have reviewed several figures, we remind you that it was available for pre-order at an indicative price of about 90 euros and is distributed in Italy thanks to Cosmic Group.
