GTA 6, let's sum up between rumors and hypotheses

GTA 6

The reveal of GTA 6 is still a long way off and we are practically certain of this. Rockstar Games is preparing to launch the new version of its fifth main chapter on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S (we are at the third release after the PS3 / PS4 and Xbox 360 / Xbox One era) and therefore we already know that there will be no official announcements at least until next year. In the last few hours, however, another rumor has emerged regarding the sixth chapter of the series that could have well-founded roots and therefore it is worth taking a look.

This rumor has actually been circulating since 2016, when it was presented (or best announced) Red Dead Redemption 2. An insider disclosed the final map of the game, also revealing some details at the plot level that in the end turned out to be true and this is an element not taken for granted when we talk about leaks related to Rockstar Games. Between rumors about the developer's western-style blockbuster, a user also brought up the new GTA. And from here some information emerges, which we still cannot trust but given that there is a "reliable" precedent it is worth reporting.

According to the user in question, GTA 6 went into production in 2016 , even if there are rumors of a "nightmare". What appears most interesting, however, concerns the setting and obviously the protagonists: in the sixth main iteration of the Rockstar Games game, according to the user, there would be two main characters, a man and a woman. The setting would be Vice City but not in the 80s, but in the present. At a certain point, however, things begin to get a little confused: there is also talk of a Cuban location, while details emerge about the protagonists: the man is a drug dealer while the woman is the contact in the two states.

Unfortunately for fans and enthusiasts, Rockstar Games is an armored software house. The leaks in this regard are very few and often add irrelevant details or in any case arrive at announcements already made. If this information were to be true and GTA 6 will actually be a game set between Florida and Cuba, with two protagonists, anyone who follows the events carefully and is very attached to the development team franchise should consider themselves very lucky. It is in fact an exception: unlike other publishers, in fact, Rockstar is the house that suffers the least leaks in the world.

In all this, the final question is only one: can you believe this rumor or no? As usual, the advice we give you is to take everything with a grain of salt. GTA 6 is still far from the official announcement. There is a minimum of reliability for the leaker but we take into account that many things change in 5 years and it is not certain that Rockstar Games have decided to start development all over again, as has already happened other times for other development teams. For now our advice is to take this information as it is disclosed, a possible preview of what we will see in a few years.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available on Amazon in PS4 version with a strong discount.

GTA 6 Setting Possibly Revealed in Map Leak

A couple of weeks ago, the GTA 6 map supposedly leaked. Since then, the leak has yet to be validated or dispelled whilst it continues to be the talking point within the Grand Theft Auto community. And now some fans think they've figured out the game's setting, courtesy of the leak. And if these fans are correct, the game is heading to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, one of the most famous cities in the world. What makes this theory particularly tantalizing is some of the most prominent GTA 6 rumors so far have claimed South America would be one of the game's two main locations, with the other being Vice City, the series fictional take on Miami.

All of that said, what's the evidence for Rio de Janeiro? Well, over on Reddit, one fan took the map and compared it to the greater Rio de Janeiro, and there are some striking similarities. Not only is the geography similar, but there are some distinct points of interest shared. Some have pointed out it doesn't match up one-for-one, but it wouldn't. While Grand Theft Auto locations are heavily inspired by real-life locations, they aren't replicas of said locations. If GTA 6 was going to do a take on Brazil, it would probably look something like what's below.

Below, you can check out the evidence for yourself:

As you can see, it's a compelling case made, but it's important to remember that we don't even know if this leaked map is real. There's a variety of reasons why many believe it's real, but many also think it's bogus.

For now, all of this needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Not only are we dealing with an unofficial leak, but speculation on top of that. While it's a compelling case, it's not anything that can be taken to the bank.

At the moment of publishing, Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have not commented on any of this. We don't expect this to change for a smattering of reasons, but if it does, we will be sure to update the story accordingly.
