Dead Island 2, the first images of an old build have appeared online

The development of Dead Island 2 has been very troubled. After being abandoned by the original developer Techland, who dedicated himself to Dying Light, the game of Deep Silver passed first into the hands of Yager Development, the developer of Spec Ops The Line, then in 2016 to those of Sumo Digital. Now the project should be under development at Dambuster Studios. In these hours the first images of an old build have appeared online, from which we can guess some details of the project.

Currently the game should still be in the hands of the studio responsible for Homefront: The Revolution and soon, yes hopefully, we should have new information of this zombie-based action-survival. In these hours, however, the first images emerged (and it is said that the first videos could also arrive) of the first version of the game, that of 2015.

It is, therefore, the game developed by Yager, that is, what should have arrived in stores during that year. Then something obviously happened and the project was wrecked due to some creative differences with the publisher. As you can see from the images, the state of development seems to be quite advanced, which makes us wonder what could have led to the current situation, that is, with the project postponed for so long, Deep Silver that has thrown away so much money, and the value of this millionaire IP that plummeted.

Meanwhile, the original developer of the game, Techland, seems to be ready to show Dying Light 2 again. Curiously, this game also seems to have had a rather troubled development.
