Apple, pages in a foreign language? Don't worry, iOS 14 takes care of the translation

Apple is reportedly working to integrate an automatic translator into Safari with the arrival of iOS 14. It is reported by 9to5mac that it would have discovered the new function within a previously leaked build. The future version of the operating system is expected for next June 22, during the WWDC which will take place exclusively online due to the Coronavirus.

Reportedly, Safari will have an integrated translator that allows users to translate the content. of web pages written in other languages without the need to use third party apps or services. In practice, it would be a function very similar to that already used by Google on Chrome.

Like the Big-G service, even on iPhones, if the system reveals that the language of the site visited is not the one set by default will be asked if translation is desired. Or, you can manually start the translation and switch from the target language to the original one whenever you want without having to reload the page. Apparently, Safari would not be the only recipient of this feature.

The translation option would also be being tested for other apps, such as the App Store. In this case, it will be used - for example - to read the reviews and / or descriptions of the applications in your own language.

The great novelty of the translation function, however, would be in the processing capacity without there being a connection Internet. In fact, the translations would be processed locally using the AI Neural Engine coprocessor, which would offer the advantage of being able to obtain a translation even offline. We'll see if Apple will really introduce it on iOS 14.

The new iPhone SE 2020 is available on Amazon starting from € 499. You can find it at this link.
