Call of Duty, misogyny and sexism lead to the dismissal of Ghost's voice

Call of Duty

In the last few hours, the cast of voice actors of Call of Duty will be without the voice of Ghost. Jeff Leach, this is the man's name, was in fact fired during the Italian night for more correct reasons. The reason for the departure from the Activision game staff is in fact what you have been able to read in the news, that is an incorrect behavior towards women and girls who enter the world of video games.

Ghost Operator Call of Duty Leach hasn't harassed anyone at Activision but he did on his Twitch channel. In the various game sessions at Call of Duty Warzone, in fact, he has welcomed women with comments that are not only sexist but also misogynistic and more generally offensive. We cannot (and do not want to) go into detail but the clips have been released via Twitter and you can take note of the comments. We invite you to watch the video, available a little further down, however, warning you that the language is definitely very, very strong.

Activision's response was not long in coming anyway. With a press release released to Charlie Intel, in fact, the publisher of the series said that he had in fact fired Jeff Leach and that he will never again dub Ghost in Call of Duty. “The sixth has no place in our industry, in our games and in society. We condemn these words and are driven by the desire to create a fun and safe gaming experience for all players ”, the words contained in the note following the man's dismissal.

Call of Duty will therefore remain devoid of Ghost's voice. At this point the future of the operator is absolutely uncertain. The press release, in fact, focuses (correctly) on Leach's departure. A departure that is obviously due: the online gaming communities are in fact always subject to toxic elements and the idea of having a person who has taken part in the development of a multiplayer title has in turn behaviors like that does not help Activision or all developers working to make various games safer. Security measures, in this sense, have been taken by Riot Games, which has started, for example, a monitoring of voice chats to ward off sexists, racists and anyone who disturbs multiplayer games by offending the participants.

Call of Duty: Warzone Updated With Mysterious Statue

It looks like things are starting to get weird in Call of Duty: Warzone once again. Hot off the heels of nuking Verdansk only a few weeks back, the current map in Warzone now seems to be teasing some new content that will be coming to the battle royale shooter. Although we currently don't know what exactly is being teased with this latest find, it seems to point to a reveal coming somewhat soon.

As of today, a mysterious statue seems to have shown up within Call of Duty: Warzone. The statue itself resides outside of a stadium but we currently don't know what it's modeled after. At this point in time, the statue has a drape covering the top of it. It stands to reason that this cover won't be around for long, though, as a reveal will likely be happening in the future.

The only hint that we have about what this statue could be in relation to comes with the plaque below it. While the statue itself is still hidden, the plaque can be read and it contains the word 'champion'. What this champion might be isn't currently known, but it does seem to imply that the statue itself is definitely of a person.

This new tease within Call of Duty: Warzone is quite intriguing, especially because the game is seemingly about to cross over with some other notable properties. Not only was a Die Hard collaboration teased for the game earlier today, but other reports have claimed that Rambo is coming to the shooter as well. All in all, it seems like Activision still has plenty of tricks up its sleeve when it comes to keeping fans engaged throughout the entirety of Season 3.

For now, Call of Duty: Warzone is currently playable on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.

What do you think this statue could be related to? Give me your best guess either down in the comments or over on Twitter at @MooreMan12.
