Little Devil Inside, the authors accused of racism decide to modify the game

The authors of Little Devil Inside have been accused of racism because of the design of some enemies, which seems to correspond to precise stereotypes: you can see it in the tweet below.

Concerned about mounting the inevitable controversy on social media for a few hours of harsh criticism of the PS5 exclusive on Kickstarter, the development team decided to make changes to the game, posting an apology letter on Facebook.

"Racist stereotypes of any kind were by no means wanted , we were not aware of this connotation and we would like to apologize to people who felt offended by that specific character design ", wrote the authors.

" Our intention was to create characters that act as guardians of a particular mystical region in the world of Little Devil Inside. We didn't realize their design by referring to real African or African American tribes. "

" We wanted to create colored masks, and so our designers searched for these objects in various cultures. The characters in the game move in groups and use paralyzing darts. We wanted to add personality to the design of the masks and thus give it life, a bit like for the Kakamora of Oceania. "

" Beyond what our intentions were, if someone felt offended we sincerely apologize . We have decided to make the following changes to the characters, but if they are not valid we could change them completely: "

We will remove the dreadlocks. We will change the lips. We will change the color of the skin. We will change the dart thrower so that it does not seem a joint.

"We would also like to add that this is our first game and we are still quite naive in many respects. As always, we thank you for your support. "

I was so excited for Little Devil Inside.

Then I noticed these enemy types.
