Interview with Finn Bálor: I found my new path in WWE

Interview with Finn Bálor

After betraying Edge and assuming command of the stable Judgment Day a few months ago, Finn Bálor seems to have found new life in WWE and, specifically, in Monday Night Raw. We had the opportunity to chat with him in Cardiff, in view of Clash at the Castle, a great British Premium Live Event where Finn will team up with Damian Priest to face Edge and Rey Mysterio. Here's what he told us.

Interview with Finn Bálor, leader of Judgment Day in WWE

In Clash at the Castle you will face two legends of this business, Edge and Rey Mysterio. How do you feel and what do you think of WWE's return to the UK?

They too will have to face a legend in the ring (laughs). It's been a really exciting weekend for multiple reasons - it's been over 30 since WWE last held a big event in a British stadium and my whole family will be there to watch the show too. The atmosphere will be electrifying, I'm sure. For me it is a great honor to be able to work with Edge and Rey Mysterio, two true legends of this business, as you rightly said. Rey in particular is a formidable athlete: he has shown that he knows how to keep up with the times and that he has never lost the polish of the past despite having been fighting for over 20 years and passes. With him there is great alchemy, we have seen him in the ring. Plus I'm happy with the direction my character has taken and I think with Judgment Day and this turn heel I finally found my new path in WWE.

Would you be interested in a one-on-one match with Edge? Maybe "Demon Balor" versus Edge in Brood version?

It could undoubtedly be interesting, but there are so many other things I plan to do in WWE before bringing back the alter ego of the Demon. And I think Judgment Day is just the beginning, so stay tuned. But certainly the idea you have proposed is very tantalizing as well as brilliant from a marketinf point of view.

I would also like to ask you for an honest opinion on the announcement of NXT Europe

I am sorry for the closure of NXT UK because I knew many of the talents who worked there and I am sure it has not been an easy decision to make. Let's look on the bright side: NXT Europe will be able to broaden its catchment area outside the UK and allow new talent to shine in WWE. Europe is full of aspiring wrestlers, you just need to know</a> how to look for them in the right place. I will follow everything very carefully and I would like to contribute in some way, even actively, to the growth of the brand. | ); }
