New appointment with Pop Culture & Graphite present A Journey into the World of Comics. On Tuesday 25 April, starting at 6.30 pm, Cultura Pop will host on its Twitch channel Graphite - School of Comics, Drawing and Illustration.

In this fourth appointment with this format we will talk about the manga with Andrea Dentuto. Teacher of manga and mangaka inking as well as founder of the Momiji Cultural Center.

We will talk about Andrea's experience in Japan in the field of animation and comics which also led him to work for the Futabasha publishing house drawing some stories of Lupine III, of the great grip that this genre of comics has on readers and aspiring designers, especially among the youngest, and on its diffusion which for two decades has been steadily increasing not only in our country but all over the world.

Moderated by Domenico Bottalico.

Andrea “Yuu” Dentuto introduces himself

Here's how our guest officially introduces himself:

I am a teacher of manga drawing and Japanese culture . When I arrived in Japan at 25, I worked as an intercalator in Telecom Animation Film (branch of TMS), led at the time by the legendary Yasuo Otsuka; in the meantime I created illustrations for some publishing houses until I reached one of the greatest national newspapers, the “Mainichi Shinbun”. I later published my original Lupine III stories for the Futabasha publishing house as a mangaka.

Back in Italy after almost 11 years, I teach manga techniques and animation in Bari and its province; I was invited to hold workshops in several cities including Rome. Mine is a passion, I spend most of my time drawing. I am the Italian historian of Lupine III for the number of publications at national level. I also take care with friends of the coordination of the comic sector of B-Geek.

I eat almost exclusively Japanese cuisine, which I prepare myself. My Master, with whom I have shared so many memorable moments, is Monkey Punch; my favorite writer is Maurice Leblanc.
