Surface Pro 8: prototype check, same design

Surface Pro 8: prototype check, same design
As anticipated last week, the launch of Microsoft's new Surface Pro 8 shouldn't be too far away, at least according to information leaks about it. Over the weekend, some first (unofficial) images of the device popped up online, shared by a Reddit user. We report a couple of them in this article.

Here is the new Surface Pro 8 from Microsoft

What immediately catches the eye is the design substantially unchanged compared to that of the model introduced now beyond a year ago. Therefore, those who want to buy a model with a more modern look, perhaps with thin edges surrounding the display, must necessarily point in other directions, for example on the recently renovated Surface Pro X with the SQ 2 processor made by the Redmond group in collaboration with Qualcomm.

In terms of technical specifications, however, in the Surface Pro 8 there will be no lack of news: 11th generation Intel Core processors (Tiger Lake) up to the Core i7-1165G7 unit , up to 32 GB of RAM, SSD for storage with capacities up to 1 TB, WiFi and Bluetooth modules for connectivity. On the software side, the pre-installed operating system is version 20H2 (October 2020 Update) of Windows 10.

The device currently seems to be known internally to Microsoft with the code name Carmel. As for the launch timing, an unspecified moment of 2021 is assumed.

A positive trend emerges from the financial results relating to the group's last quarterly report for the Surface line, whose sales this year were driven by the race to adopt tools for smart working and remote communication.
