Justice League Snyder Cut - the return of the Joker, the new trailer and more
Zack Snyder has returned to talk about Justice League Snyder Cut in the last few days also granting a long video interview to Beyond The Trailer in which he spoke in depth about the making of the film and what we will see. The director also anticipated that next week we will have a new trailer, more precisely on November 17th to coincide with the third anniversary of the film's theatrical release.

Justice League Snyder Cut - Jared's Joker Leto

As anticipated a few days ago by some rumors, Zack Snyder confirmed that Jared Leto will return to play the role of Joker but will have a different look:

He will have a new look, I will honor the version designed by David Ayer because I think it's a really nice reinterpretation but since the last time we saw it it has been a long time and a lot has happened. It was fun to have him for this additional scene, it's really great to work with Jared because he's attentive to detail and he really cares that everything he does is perfect. He was very kind to embrace my idea, it was something I already had in mind back in the days of Justice League. So, when I told him that it was something that had been running around in my head for quite some time, I had the feeling that he had considered it as something to do absolutely, inevitable. I am grateful to him and will always be indebted to him for the kindness he had.

Justice League Snyder Cut - additional shots, Ben Affleck and Ezra Miller

The director wanted to dispel a myth regarding additional shots or rather its duration by saying that he actually shot in total about 4/5 minutes. It is therefore likely that this new shot served to complete the material left in the drawer and not included in the film version. It is also likely that the hefty budget allocated, again unconfirmed figures, has been diverted to post-production and special effects.

They are still back in these additional scenes for Justice League Snyder Cut and Ben Affleck in the as Batman and Ezra Miller as the Flash.

About Ben Affleck, Snyder said:

I think he forgot how uncomfortable it was to wear the costume but in the end it was fine. It was kind and it was fun to see how these costumes reappeared from the archives and exhibitions by just snapping your fingers on the set… we really had to pull them out of the display cases. You know I think a couple have also broken, especially the hoods…

Funny anecdote about the additional shots with Ezra Miller:

I needed Ezra but he was in London to shoot Fantastic Beasts so the only way we could think of was to use Zoom. I sent some drawings to the Fantastic Beasts crew explaining to them what I needed and they did it all by placing my shot as if it were behind the camera… luckily they were small frames and this solution saved us.

These confirmations also join those already leaked related to the restoration of the post-credits scene starring Joe Manganiello in the role of Deathstroke which, however, does not seem to have needed additional footage.

Just the actor had commented on his social channels saying that

All the original ending credits sequence has been changed for the release of Justice League. Once Batman [the movie that was supposed to star and director Ben Affleck - Ed.] Was canceled, they changed that scene. So, there you have it, but I wrote about it on my social media. There is an original scene that will be brought back to what was originally intended.

Justice League Snyder Cut - the sequel and Return of the Dark Knight

A few days ago, however, Zack Snyder went further by hypothesizing a sequel to Justice League Snyder Cut whose pivot would obviously be the Darkseid's return to Earth.

Ray Porter and I [the actor who plays Darkseid in Justice League Snyder Cut - Ed.] talked a lot about the character and the things he could have said about it, the way just to answer certain questions. We talked about what would happen if Darkseid returned to Earth, his idea of the character and the things he knew about him. The truth is that I had an idea and wrote a complete draft. Yes, I know what would happen when Darkseid returns… I know.

The director then explained that he should return for a new film with DC heroes, he would use the approach he used for Todd Philipps' Joker and would like to turn Frank Miller's seminal Return of the Dark Knight into a film. In short, a movie in its own right without links to a shared universe.

In this regard, Snyder revealed that he wanted to insert a flashback between Batman and Catwoman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and for the part he had thought to Carla Cugino.

There was a flashback set ten years ago where we saw Batman and Catwoman ... there was something and then, no one knows why, Batman had to stop her or had to let her go, and this thing lo has changed. And now who knows what she is doing, she will be managing some international antiques, he needs to retire, and they find each other.

Justice Leagus vs Justice League Snyder Cut

Justice League should ideally have closed the first phase of the DCEU which started already under the criticism, in the opinion of who writes undeserved and unjustified, to Man of Steel then exploded with that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in which it was evident how the pressure of the race to align DC films to those of the competition whose project was diametrically opposed to that evidently conceived by the director.

Justice League was one of the most controversial cine-comics, not to mention one of the most controversial films of the last 20 years, so much so that its realization could be compared to one of the great masterpieces of American cinema or Gone with the Wind this because the two films were united by a troubled production which, between unhappy actors and additional shots costing millions of dollars, culminated in the removal of Zack Snyder from directing, which occurred in con comitance with a very serious family mourning, and the arrival of Joss Whedon who, in an attempt to repeat the success of Avengers, completed an unripe film that was able to hardly reach its purpose: to close the Snyder era.

Con the sunset of the DCEU and the birth of the Worlds of DC, however, the fan base of Zack Snyder has always remained very vocal, recording in its ranks also the protagonists of the film but also unsuspected professionals from the world of cinema and comics who evidently had perceived the need to give the director a chance first of all from an artistic point of view to show his work as originally conceived.

Warner Bros. few weeks ago he postponed all the DC films planned for 2021 and beyond, namely The Batman, The Flash, Shazam 2 and Black Adam.
